My Friend Gary.

It's amazing who you run into when you're in the southern hemisphere thousands of miles from familiar people and things...I ran into my friend Gary. Little did I know that he was going to be here and now that we've spent some quality time together--I'm actually glad he's here. Granted, he doesn't talk that much and he puts me through a lot. He's not one for emotion and that's good for both of us. I can't tell you how much he's going to keep me in line...

Yes, that is GARY FISHER--GENESIS, and well equipped (XT, MARZOCCI FORKS, GOOD SET OF RIMS, LX HUBS--YOU KNOW). I have returned to a former passion of mine without regret--MOUNTAIN BIKING. This time I'm happy to say I've entered into this with goals--hopefully a 100K race in August, and a few others before. We'll see how it goes but so far I've had some incredible times riding through the Dark African Forest... This has also given me some great time to spend getting to know some guys and seeing some outstanding scenery (ocean cliffs!) . One of these guys is Tim--he's really been more than kind--inviting me into his home and it was a great time celebrating my birthday with him and his mom. For those of you who know my food preferences--I enjoyed a wonderful portion of Canadian Salmon...Yes, Salmon. I put up some pictures of my new place--this is further support that my life here has been so beyond my expectations... I feel a bit as I’m 'showing off' but it’s almost comical to see the accommodations that I've been provided...I really have been blessed here.

Work has been good--next post I'll explain more of the project I'm working on and the changes that will be happening all around me.

My friend Elijah comes in the Thursday. We'll embark on some adventures I'm sure--My goal is to find some monkeys--this is Africa isn't it? I've seen some on the road but they advise against stopping and you can be fined for feeding them...I'll start with monkeys and move up from there--Knysna is known for its extinct forest elephants...Then the great white sharks...

That's it. I'm 28 years old, I'm in South Africa, and I eat fish.
