The D-Lo, INFO, 4-1-1-oh

My friend Don recently suggested that I post information such as current music, books, and other forms of media that may be inspiring. He, as a fellow music 'conasewer' (yes, that is the way I spell it...) may have a little more appreciation for this post.

I consider myself a mood listener--I listen to music based on a task and not so much based on what I'm obsessed with listening to. At work I'm listening to Thievery Corporation "Richest Man in Babylon", last week was an interesting album by David Holmes "Lets get killed". At the house it has been a mellow mix of Howie Long, Delirious, Casting Crowns. On the bike (as of last weekend) my little mp3 player is loaded with Bush, Everclear, Linkn Park, and some Creed--good music to hurt yourself with:)

On a brief music note, Trey has mentioned he is listening to Wilco--I assume they've got some newer stuff out which is good (not that Yankee Hotel Foxtrot was bad) and my friend Don tells me Royksopp is releasing something in June or July--The newest hit I've recently found which I will make public knowledge is 'Kings of Convenience'--recent as in last fall, but recent enough--in my book they have quickly made it to the 'fine wine' collection. I'm still trolling the South African music--and getting some quality bytes...

I'm reading C.S. Lewis 'Perelandra'--the second in his space trilogy. For those of you who have ventured into that portion of his work here is a morsel of trivia. The first book ('Out of the Silent Planet') is a 'man' panet--Mars--and all the rules, people, and situations are all very characteristic of man...Perelandra is about 'venus' ...yes, the woman...So, he arrives and the whole planet is a gigantic ocean where even the land has waves and is always up and down--a very trippy book--and I encourage you to read it to really see how weird it is. I'm also reading 'The Lexicon of the New Urbanism'--there is absolutely no use in explaining that. You could look up DPZ on google and thats the best I can do...I've also set a personal goal of reading the Bible in a year which is coming along nicely.

Some of my favorite websites are www.browniebytes.blogspot.com (how's that for a comment Katie?) www.livejournal.com/users/asiatrey is another good blog . www.freewareppc.com (if you have a pocket pc) is just a novelty--none of the software is great and finally the most interesting, unique, crazy website I've seen in many moons... www.tokyoflash.com CHECK out the watches and the museum and if anybody is heading to tokyo, I've got an order to put in...

I have to mention www.skype.com possibly one of the most powerful movements aimed at throwing off the 'man' and his outrageous international telephone rates...
